- Scope and Contentabstracting WB/B4/1/Lu/Bell/17 with letter of 19 Dec 1807 by John Samuel Story as follows: On the other side I send you an abstract of the conveyance from the late Mr.William Kinder to the Vendor, of his moiety of the Bell Publick House at Luton. The Vendor claims the other moiety as the eldest son and heir of his father (Thomas Kinder, deceased) who died intestate. As this conveyance relates to the several [properties] which were purchased during the existence of the late co-Partnershipo between Thomas and William Kinder, deceased, we shall not be able to part with the principal, but we shall not object to Covenants for its production and to furnish you with an attested copy. The late Mt.Thomas Kinder's widow is still living. There is no chance of her ever making any claim for dower, but if you insist upon it my client must give his bond as an indemnity. I shall be glad to see the draft of the conveyance when prepared
