Burrs Brewery Thomas Godfrey Burr purchased Edmund Humphrey's Luton brewery in 1776; The business passed to T.G.Burr's sons William and Jonathan in 1798, eventually passing to William alone who was succeeded by his sons Frederick, Charles and Solomon in 1811. Solomon Burr purchased the Wilkins family brewery in Luton in 1820. The Burrs sold their business to Thomas Sworder in 1857 [see WB/S]
