- TitleLetter from Cookson, Wainewright & Pennington of 6 New Square, Lincoln's Inn [Middlesex] to Charles Stockdale Benning of Dunstable, solicitor "Manor of Eaton Bray (Stevens's Copyhold We have consulted the Land Surveyor (Mr.Richard Trumper of 23 Lincolns Inn Fields) by whom the late Mr.Stevens's lands were surveyed and valued some years ago for the fine and he states that the 58a 1r 14p you have proposed as the copyhold portion is by far the worst land on the Farm. He reported in his survey that the annual value of the 56a 1r 0p (being the quantity of the copyhold portion) was, on an average £99 and he now states that if the 58a 1r 14p were valued they would amount to very little more than half the average value he reported. he states that he considered when he made his survey that 8a 1r 14p were waste and he only put a nominal value upon them under these circumstances we think some other arrangement should be agreed on"
