BEDFORD - THE EMBANKMENT Oblique view from the new Town Hall looking eastwards. The picture shows the Swan Hotel on the left of town bridge. The building left of the Swan Hotel is Barclays Bank, what was the Murkett Bros. The Embankment road runs straight up on the right side of the Swan Hotel which is on the corner. In the distance round the corner of the river is the metal arched footbridge. In the background on the left is Goldington Power Station.
