  • Title
Letter from Chilcott and Sons to F Bassett. Dry rot has been discovered in the house, and in the cottage occupied by the Pascoes. Also the stables are in want of repair. Mrs Bull is not bound to do the repairs and cannot afford them. Is trustees' duty to keep trust property in repair. As reversion passes to Mrs Bassett asks what to do - sell some of personal estate or raise money at interest. If so will Mr Bassett lend at 3 or 3 3/4. Some of funds under will are in Telegraph company shares but they are afraid of effect of the proposed Cape to Cairo line. 'Do you think it would be wise to sell them after the Transvaal fuss is over'
