Title
A collection of records relating to the Bassett family of Leighton Buzzard.
The Bassetts were a Quaker family who ran a banking business in Leighton Buzzard, later amalgamated with Barclays Bank.
It was Frederick Bassett, and occasionally his son Francis, who were expected to sort out the affairs of the firm of Henry Tylor and Sons, manufacturers, when they got into financial difficulties.
The records mainly relate to the personal affairs of various members of the family for whom the family firm appear to have acted as bankers or trustees.
This collection was deposited by Barclays Bank, Leighton Buzzard, on 26 June 1982, through the Buckinghamshire Record Office.
