We were delighted at getting such a quick result to our anxiety as to the result of the voting and it was very good of you to send that early phone message. I think the tide is turning in the political world. Scotland seems also to be changing its mind as to the good of Socialism. I am so very pleased also at your wishing so keenly for a riding dog. I think it possible that if all people wake up to the necessity of producing food, fuel and other commodities we may find ourselves better placed than it looks at present, and that you may get what you wish for sooner than you hope at the moment. We must all keep on the look-out for advertisements and breeders. Your description of the proceedings at Loughborough is very interesting. I will certainly loan you Cooper's book - Cooper will send it off to you. I have two copies, one the presentation copy & the other for lending about. I shall be glad to see you again when you find a suitable day.
