- TitleThe beautiful oranges have arrived and look delicious. I am very grateful. Many thanks for your kind thought. I will return the tin, as you say, such things are very scarce. The new calf has arrived and is a heifer, and a great beauty. Its mother is a splendid milker and gives over 5 gals of milk per diem. I have begun carrying hay today and am getting on very well with it so far, but still have a good deal to cut. The weather is perfect for haymaking but we want rain badly for the other crops. I am sorry that you and your wife have not been able to enjoy cycling. I don't seem to know anything about Kedleston Hall. I hope it will prove interesting. If you can give me the owner's name I might be able to find out something about it. With hearty thanks for the oranges. [PS] I am engaged on the next two weekends, but after that I expect I could receive you any Saturday in July that you liked to suggest.
