- TitleI fear I have been long in answering your letter and am interested in the detail of your settling down in your new quarters. You must be careful not to over work yourself, especially with regard to your stomach trouble. I fear that most of the food we get is indigestible, stale and adulterated. Many seem to suffer. The new bread rationing makes housekeeping much more complicated. My son is at the seaside camp at Felixstowe with his cadets, so I have not heard whether the storms & floods have affected him. I have done better than I expected with my hay & got rather a better crop than usual. Somebody did procure some old Country Lifes, but I can't remember who & I fear the promise has not materialised so far. I hope you will come over again soon, but lately, what with my dear son's death and the de-requistioning of this house by the Military, I have had much business to do of late. Everything seems to be going wrong all over the world !!! I hope the family are well & also Major. I wish you were riding him about rather than overworking yourself.
