I am glad that you had such a good quick journey home. I expect that the travelling will soon be better with more trains. I think I may find more art magazines in due course but I doubt whether they will be Connoiseurs or Country Lifes which are generally sent to friends or clubs. I fear that you are depriving yourself of good sleep in studying art. It is a great asset to you to be naturally inclined to such a refined happy [sic - hobby] as domestic architecture and object d'art. I am glad that Major gave you a warm greeting. We must now do our best to secure a muzzle. I have seen a good many boys lately either demobbed or on leave. The outlook does not seem very peaceful. Everybody seems to be quarrelling. I have bought another cow, a down-calving heifer, to make for the loss of the cow that died, in yield of milk.
