- Title21 May 1545 in court held in parish church of St. Paul in Bedford. Hoclyff Nicholas Smyth alias Ford lived suspiciously with a certain woman, the servant of John Hosteler of the same vil. He denied the charge, and was to bring witnesses to purge himself at the next court at Leghton Bosard, but he died before the day of the court.
