Amphill sir William Pers the curate there impregnated a certain Margreta Chapman of Ampthill. He to do penance . On the next Sunday following he is to go round the churchyard of Ampthill with the procession and before the cross, in penitential garb, with a candle in his right hand price 1d. and a book in his left hand , saying the seven penitential psalms with litany and prayers, and inside the church he is to sit before the altar until the offertorium and then to offer his candle, and on the following Sunday he can purge his penance.
