    Sale Book Including photographs and conditions of sale for the Pedley Settled Estates, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire (second portion) in the parishes of Eaton Bray, Whipsnade, Totternhoe, Studham, Caddington, Markyate and Flamstead in 41 lots comprising of stock and dairy farms, shooting box, cottage residences, small holdings, accomodation land, woodlands and lime works. Auction by Joseph Stower in conjunction with Arthur W. Merry at The Council Chamber, Luton, 1st November 1915. The 41 lots include lot 2 Residence or Shooting Box, Hill Farm, part of Houchens End Farm and Manor,Whipsnade, lots 3 & 4 parts of Dell and City Farms and Sallowspring Wood, lot 5 Frog Corner Cottages, lot 6 Yew Tree Cottages, lot 7 Maple Cottage, lot 8 Golden Row Cottage, lot 14 Shortgrove Manor Farm, Landpark Wood, Allcroft Wood and the Manor of Shortgrove with part of Whipsnade Heath, lot 15 Brick Kiln Farm including Brick Earth deposits. Lot 20 Icknield Way and Valence End Farms and part of Dunstable Downs, lot 21 Manor Fram, lot 28 part of Lower Farm, lot 34 part of Lower Woodside Farm and lot 41 Blows Down Lime Works, Whitening Works, Chalk Pits and part of Blows Down. The sale book includes photographs of the following lots, lot 2 Shooting Box, lot 3 Dell Farm, lot 6 Yew Tree Cottage, lot 8 Golden Row Cottage, lot 14 Shortgrove Manor, lot 20 Valence End Farm, lot 21 Manor Farm, Markyate and lot 34 Lower Woodside Farm. Lots 2 and 14 include The Lordships of the Manor or Reputed Manors of Whipsnade and Shortgrove respectively. Reference is made to the marriage settlement of Arthur Macnamara and Lady Sophia Macnamara dated 1854 and to the settlement contained in the will of John Pedley, (died 1838) in the conditions of sale section 6.
