Letter from John Beasley Junior at Thorpelands, Northampton to John Green: "I beg on behalf of my Father who is confined to his bed through illness to acknowledge your note of the 5th instant. Mr.Parsons most decidedly gave me to understand he was authorised to offer us the land, had he not done so I should not have spent a very hot day in going over it. I will send him your note and beg an explanation from him. It is not often that my Father attends auction sales."
