Letter from Thomas Parsons at Irchester [Northamptonshire] to Samuel Swaffield: "I went to Northampton on Saturday and saw Mr. Beasley Junior, his Father was from home, but he expected him at to-day. He said he had no doubt but his Father would buy the Farm if you did not want too much for it he thought it probable he would write to you about it but he did not know whether he would be at liberty for a few days and he would have to see Lord Overstone about it. Mr.Beasley Junior knows you by name if not personally, he has been over a farm your son is to occupy of the Duke of Bedford. Sir you know what my land is but the other two gentlemen with you did not see the worst of it. I hope you will be able to sell it, as I think they would not turn me out. Mr. Beesley wanted to know about it I told him I had a little map which would give him an outline of it if Mr. Green is done with it. Perhaps he will send me it so that I may give it to him when he comes to look at it. Mr. Beasley Junior thought if his father could not spare a day, he would send him to look at it, as it is a small farm. I told him I might take two or three weeks so we shall come to some understanding before that time."
