Message reads: 'Dear Mother, This is a photo of our band taken when we were playing to the troop on the Square, you cannot see me as those to girls hide me. We are all Packed up and waiting for the order to go to London to the strike we have been confined to Barrack sine <Thursday> Thursday night. I dont mind going but I dont want any bricks thrown at my head. I had a nice time on Monday I went to a place called Liphook about 15 miles from here to some sports. believe me your loving son R'
