    Particulars and conditions of sale of property in Yielden to be sold by auction by Robinson & Hall at The Town Hall, Bedford on 22nd July 1944 by instructions of T H Hawkey viz: The Manor Estate comprising: (a) The Manor House (rebuilt in 1923) with farmery, gardens, orchards and summer house (b) Homestead known as "High Barn" Yielden with various outbuildings and six cottages (c) Arable and pasture land with schedule describing land (acreage of 719.077) with OS numbers Title to commence as follows: -662.928a with a Conveyance of 14th Oct 1912 -56.149a formerly glebe land of Yelden with Melchbourne, with a conveyance of 23 May 1944 and sale subject to occupation by the War Agricultural Committee and the Air Ministry, stated restrictive covenants etc General remarks about the sale include a schedule of quit rents for plots of garden ground forming part of the estate. The description of the land refers in some detail to past cultivation and the effect on it of war-time restrictions and requisitions. Enclosure: Letter to R N Sanders of Snelson Farm, Lavendon (Bucks) , dated 27 Aug 1946, re possible seven year leases of the above estate.
