Taken by Paige Stuart and used in the Beds Times 27 January 1928. Incribed on the back as follows: Mr Thomas Haynes (aged 88) and Mrs Haynes (85) who have both lived at Goldington, Bedford, all their lives, photographed today (Tuesday) - the 67th anniversary of their wedding. "I started onion-wedding when I was 9" said Mr Haynes, "and I have never missed a season since." He still works as a market garener on his half-an-acre of land, and himself takes his produce to Bedford. Mr Haynes has never had a day's illness in his life, a fact which he attributes to hard work in the open air. Photograph was taken at the door of the couple's old-world cottage where they have lived for nearly half a century.
