He understands that John Stone, one of the late Mr. Leycester's tenants, is leaving his cottage, and that Henry Sear wants it for his son and daughter, whom the writer recommends. He has heard that Stone's wife's mother, Charity Glenister, wants the tenancy, but advises against it 'a bad set.'
