    Two copies of the Will of John Franklin of Leighton Buzzard, gent made 3 August 1779 proved London 27th March 1781. to his brother Joseph Franklin for life an annuity of £10, after arrears of rent due from a property at Watford, Herts., have been settled. recites his property, i.e. freehold messuage and lands lately purchased of Mr. Kidgel Sandon at Edlesborough in Bucks; ... freehold house now 2 tenements in the North End of L.B.; ... moiety of the manor or messuage at Stanbridge in L.B. now in the tenure of William Capp, and other lands in Leighton Buzzard and Linslade, Bucks; ... freehold messuage in Stoke Hammond, Bucks; ... freehold messuage now divided into 2 tenements with nursery ground at Watford, Herts. all of which are to pass to his good friends William Firth of L.B. gent, John Cooper of LB, tanner, and Joseph Burnham of Aylesbury, gent. and their heirs, to be held to uses, i.e. to the use of the testator's kinsman John Franklin eldest son of his late newphew John Franklin deceased for term of life and to heirs male, in default of which to the use of nephew Thomas Franklin son of late brother Thomas F. and heirs male, in default of which to use of nephew William Franklin and heirs male, in default of which to the use of kinsman Arthur Franklin other son of late nephew John Franklin deceased and heirs male, in default of which to the use of nephew John Franklin son of bro. Joseph Franklin and heirs male, in default of which to the use of daughters of his kinsman John Franklin, son of late nephew John Franklin, and of the daughters of said nephews William and Thomas Franklin, and of kinsman Arthur Franklin and of John Franklin to be equally divided between them as tenants in common.
