    Letter: from Richard Dillingham at 7th Lincoln's Battalion, [France] to Christine Dillingham at Kings Road, Flitwick - writer has moved to another camp after travelling there by motor buses; - notes they travelled through some pretty country lanes, "the woods and old hedges are just now at their best with different autumn colourings"; - comments they are billeted in an old barn and are pushed for room, "the old sides are a bit knocked about and have seen better days"; - notes the farm is miles from anywhere and it reminds him of Bert's fields with the Barton Hills in the distance; - comments that when his finished at night he is afraid to go out in the dark as he would never find his way back again; - notes the billet they are at is a long way from the front line and so don't have to worry about any air raids, "I think Fritz would have a job to find this place if he tried"; - has heard rumours they may be based there for two or three weeks; - notes they are not getting a good living but hopes it will improve; - asks if she has gone back home yet and how she got on sending Ben to school whilst at Denel End; - asks her how the chickens are and what she is going to do with them, "keep them or make pigeon pie of them?";
