'I do with you deeply lament the unfortunate quarrel between Arthur Crisp and his wife'. Was unwell when matter first came to his notice so asked his nephew, John Bassett, Kitty's brother, to try to bring about a reconciliation. Failing this he suggested a simple separation, to avoid a great scandal. He is too unwell to see him but suggests his nephew, J D Bassett in his place. 'Sydney Morse, who is acting for my niece, is a most respectable solicitor'.
