Letter from G W Binns to 'Dear Uncle'. His mother-in-law is very ill - a paralytic attack which has principally attacked the brain. No doubt this last worry has been too much for her. Did not hear until he got home yesterday evening otherwise would have gone down to Woburn. Father-in-law appreciates offer of assistance over the policies and is content to leave matters in writer's hands although at first he pressed for the policies to be sold to pay some more off borrowed capital. Has arranged to see Uncle Charles and Uncle John about sale of Hertford and to get consent of former to creditors being paid 20s. His father is of opinion that stock and machinery will fetch more than £500 even in forced sale. Posted down to Reigate and saw Uncle Charles who will not stand in the way of Hy J paying 20s in £ to trade creditors. Uncle Charles is personally willing to contribute £100 towards buying Hertford. Thinks Uncle John will do the same. Only other pressing matter is payday next Saturday - £180 to £200. Please to 'wire him tomorrow whether he may draw on you for the amount'. Writer will arrange for £400 to be available as early as possible. 'I have Bagnall's and King's securities and will send them to you tomorrow'
