Gilbert Hele Chilcott, Truro, gentleman By marriage settlement of Marshall Valentine Bull and Elizabeth Lawer Retallack of 22 May 1849 it was recited that E L Retallack was entitled to - undivided moiety of Treamble Mine, Perran Sands, Cornwall - £3000 invested in a mortgage of certain freehold properties with Nicholas Francis Bassett and Francis Retallack as trustees as in 2 deeds of even date. E L Bull died on 22 December 1852 N F Bassett died in December 1868 Francis Retallack, who was only brother of E L Bull, has attained 21 By deed of 5 August 1874 a)Joseph Newton b) said Francis Retallack c) said Marshall Valentine Bull reciting the marriage settlement of Richard Retallack and Elizabeth Lawer dated 3 and 4 November 1828 by which E L Retallack, their daughter became entitled to a moiety of the Treamble Mine, and also reciting the death of N F Bassett leaving a) as his surviving co-trustee. Now a) conveyed to use of b) on various trusts - said messuages By deed of 28 May 1880 1) M V Bull 2) said F Retallack 3) Thomas Moor Alphonse Horsford 1) appointed 3) as trustee of the marriage settlement in place of N F Bassett, deceased Said sum of £3000 was invested, as to £1271 in purchase of £152 4% Debenture Stock of the Cornwall Railway, and £1773 19s 6d in purchase of £1,550 4% Debenture Stock in Great Eastern Railway, and balance, and small sum derived from sale of part of Treamble land, in £62 13s 5d Consolidated Bank Annuities By deed of 1 November 1881 A) M V Bull B) F Retallack C) T M A Horsford D) G H Chilcott A) appointed D) to be trustee of Settlement of 22 May 1849 in place of C) who declined to act and said lands and said debentures etc were transferred to B) and D) £16 7s 4d (part of said Consolidated Bank Annuities) were sold to pay expenses of said appointment of new trustees By deed of 11 June 1873 I) Elizabeth Phoebe Bassett II) said F Bassett III) Theodore Bassett - said sum of £3000 - said undivided moiety of lands were (subject to life interest of M V Bull) conveyed to III) for use of II) M V Bull died on 15 October 1893 Said sum of £45 16s 1d [remainder of above Consolidated Bank Annuities] had been sold and proceeds paid to II). Railway Stock has also been transferred to II). Now iv) with consent of ii) and iii) convey to i) - undivided moiety in Treamble also ii) also relinquishes all claims to any equity in a settlement out of the funds and both i) and ii) release and discharge iv) from any claims in respect of the trusts signatures of all various witnesses
