Administration for the estate of Matthew Goodman, of Clophill, yeoman, who died between 1760 and 1763 and Frances Coote nee Goodman who died between 1778 and 1781. Letters of administration were issued to their [great]nephew John Negus of Millbrook, labourer. Bond of John Negus, signed by his mark, Samuel Davis of Ampthill, gentleman, and Charles Austin of Ampthill, stationer.

Matthew Goodman left a will dated 29 Nov 1760, proved by his executrix Frances Goodman later Coote on 19 March 1763. Frances Coote left a will dated 9 Oct 1778 proved by executors Edward Horne and Thomas Goodman of Hitchin on 28 Sept 1781. Thomas Goodman died leaving assets unadministered. Thomas Goodman's sister Mary Goodman married William Negus, who died in or about 1781 and was the father of John Negus.
