Edward Leslie Hopperton moved to Manor Farm, Little Staughton in about 1909. He had been born in Goudhurst, Kent in about 1881. His father was a farmer. His wife, Emmie Hall, was born in Girtford. They married in 1907. By 1921 they had four sons: Harry 'Kenneth', born at Colmworth in 1909; Charlie, Harold and George 'Clifford', all born at Little Staughton in 1910, 1912 and 1914 respectively. Edward died on the 24 May 1955 and is buried at Little Staughton. Probate was granted to Kenneth Harry Hopperton and Charles Hopperton, farmers. Emmie continued to live at Manor Farm until at least 1966, she died in 1969.
