Title
Transcripts of letters from Sidney H Abbott of the 2nd Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment who was killed in action on 4th Novenber 1918. Most of the letters are addressed to Ivy Wright who variously lived in Turvey and Northampton but there are also some to her parents.

Scope and Content
The letters were found in a lady's purse in a a barn in Newton Blossomville and were transcribed by Tony Birks. The letters are mainly reminiscences of his time in Turvey and Sidney's experiences in the trenches and various training camps in Britain. The originals are in the possession of Turvey History Society. (February 2025)
