Frank Mole was born at Sharnbrook in 1891. He was educated at the Bedford Modern School and moved to Bristol to teach art to those working in the design departments of the printing trade. He returned frequently to Sharnbrook in his holidays.
Original accession 3249, accession for material returned in 2001, 10214.
Archival history
The collection was deposited in November 1970 by Mr Mole. Mr Mole died on the 19 February 1976. With the exception of X409/20, the collection was withdrawn by Mrs M Mole (believed to be Frank's sister-in-law) on the 10 February 1984. At the time of the withdrawal slides, photographic prints and some facsimiles were made of the material and cross references to these are made from this catalogue. In 2001 many of the items were returned to the archive service Mr Michael Jones. Mr Jones had been in correspondence with Mrs M Mole, who was at that time living in the USA.
