(i) Eton College, Bucks (ii) Viscount Hampden, Great and Little Hampden, Bucks In Consid. of the surrender by (ii) to (i) of a former lease (i) demise to (ii) - Rectory or parsonage of Bromham - tithes of corn, grain, hay, wood and of fruit, oblations, profits etc - grange and messuage etc and all lands, meadows, etc in Bromham, Stackden and Steventon (excepting the advowson of Bromham) Term - 10 years from Old Michaelmas Day last (10 Oct) Rent - £4.13s.4d - 3 quarters, 3 bushels and 2 pecks of merchantable barley malt of the best sort as approved by the bursar, baker and brewer of the college or the money equivalant Also (ii) agrees to deliver in the college pasture called the Playing Leazures 20 good fat wether sheep as allowed by the bursar or slaughter man of the college, to be delivered between Pentecost and St John's Day. If sheep unacceptable, then £12 to be paid on St John's Day. Also (ii) is to pay on behalf of (i) 40s to the King on 10 Oct (ii) also agrees to maintain the chancel of Bromham and said parsonage and grange Also (ii) agrees to give the parishioner of Bromham a drinking in Rogation Week 'of Old Time used and accustomed' (ii) also will find straw yearly for useful times for the Church of Bromham (i) agree that (ii) may have such great timber growing on the premises as may be necessary for repairing the parsonage, grange or church and sufficient cartboot, fireboot and ploughboot to be spent on the premises and not elsewhere (ii) also agrees to find (i) sufficient lodging, horsemeat and man's meat for 2 days and 3 nights in the year when they shall come to survey the lands. If (i) does not come then (ii) shall pay 40s on 10 Oct in that year (ii) agrees to make a terrier of all the glebe and all above demised lands withing next 3 years and to deliver it written on parchment to (i). If not delivered then (ii) to pay every 6 months £5 'in the name of a Pain' Also (ii) will within the next 6 months on the parsonage and glebe lands make holes and marks to distinguish the lands from others and shall keep open such holes and marks every three years during the said term and will maintain all moors and boundaries Sealed of (i) Examined by H Sleech No endorsements
