- Scope and ContentThanks Hugh for his letter and makes comments about the contents thereof. Came to Kidderminster about a week ago to help brother and his family. The district has been swept clear of domestics by the munition works with the result that brother's family were threatened with being left with four babies and no one in the house. Luckily a new nurse was found in time, but has to do all the housework and cooking. Does not see much chance of returning home. The babies are aged 4, 3, 2 and 1, three girls and a boy. It is difficult for brother to get in his parochial work, and he has a good deal of worry over the National Mission, which he feels will be a fiaso unless it becomes more detinite. Had quite a good time as regards work in Halifax - St. Augustines proved very interesting. The writer Worked them a good red frontal. The women of the parochial council were so pleased with it that they arranged to have te chancel cleaned and then started on a lectern hanging, and entire new set of alter linen and a cover for the credence table. Walks and picnics when in Halifax. Saw a good deal of the Barrow's and the Norris'. St. Paul's is going strong. though they will miss Mr Ryder at the organ. Is sending stole at the same time as this letter, so hopes it wil arrive safely.
