    (i) Hastings Curtis Folliott Scott, Arlesey Vicarage, Esq (ii) Rev Harry Morland Wells Fred Hammond Rev Richard Curtis Folliott Scott, vicar of Arlesey Reciting will of Rev Richard Folliott Scott, father of (i) and Rev R C F Scott, dated 25 Nov 1880 and appointed (ií) as executors, trustees and guardians of the infant children. ...to H M Well and Fred Hammon 50 guineas each …to R C F Scott £1000 and all his furniture, pictures, plate etc except plate marked with crest of Curtis family which he bequeathed to (i) ... to trustees his advowson or right of presentation to living of Astwick cum Arlesey In trust for each son of his as should at his death become qualified and willing to accept the living. Elder to be preferred to younger. If no son be qualified, then trustees to present any proper person to the living. Such person to take out Bond to resign it when one of testator's sons is qualified and willing to accept it. If no son is qualified, then advowson to be sold. Proceeds to be part of his residuary personal estate. - all real estate in trust for sale. Proceeds of sales to be held in trust for children. Share of sons to daughters should be in proportion of 3 to 2. Son entitled to advowson may take land as his share. Daughters’ share to be held in trust for them and their children Sd R F Scott died on 10 May 1881. Will proved 27 July 1881 Reciting birth dates of children including Lionel Folliott Scott who was born on 23 Oct 1870 Property of testator at his death is set out in 1st Schedule. On 28 June 1882 there was left for distribution bet the 5 children - £6275 19s in cash and investments as in 2nd Schedule (valued at £8500 9s 6d) Total - €14,776 8s 6d divisible among the 5 children as set out in 3rd schedule On 28 June 1882 (ii) accounted to R C F Scott for £3409 18s 9d being his share and they retained for the 4 younger children - stocks and shares valued at £8500 9s 6d and £2866 0s 3d (ii) out of sd £2866 0s 3d made the investments as in 4th Schedule reciting also the will of Thomas Curtis, formerly of Lombard Street, London, and then of the Hall, Berkhampsted, Herts, Esg, dated 3 Sept 1880 appointed his great nephew, sd R F Scott, one of trustees and exors .. to each exor who should prove his will £1000 ... to R F Scott £10,000 Bond of the Oriental Club for £200, once the prop of the grandfather of sd R F Scott But subj to appointments and bequests became void by the death of R F Scott in lifetime of sd Thomas Curtis Sd Thomas Curtis by a codicil to his will dated 14 May 1881, in consequence of death of R F Scott, bequeathed sd £10,000 to the trustees of the will of R F Scott for the trusts as in will of R F Scott On 10 July 1885 trustees of the will of Thomas Curtis paid to (ii) £9700 (sd legacy less legacy duty). Sd legacy divided bet the 5 children of R F Scott, as shown in 5th schedule (i) having attained 21, (ii) have handed to him the plate marked with the Curtis crest, as in father's will R C F Scott was inducted to the living of Arlesey on death of Rev Thomas Rea Medwin (who had been presented by trustees as R C F Scott was not then qualified to hold the living) By deed of 14 Nov 1885 the legal estate in sd advowson was duly vested in R C F Scott Real estate valued at £3196 17s has been transferred to R C F Scott. There is now standing to the account of the adult children, and to the trustees of Lionel F Scott, a minor, the amount shown in the 6th schedule (ii) have lately executed transfers in name of (i) of stocks, as in 7th schedule and have pa to him £1007 8s 3d being his share of the cash, after paying duty as in 8th schedule, and other charges, and they have instructed their bankers to account to him for balance of €65 7 10d Now (i) releases (ii) from all actions, claims etc in respect of the real and personal estate of sd testator with schedules as mentioned Signature of i) 20 Oct 1887 Witness: T Adam Phillips, solicitor, 99, Cannon St, London Endorsed with receipt from R C F Scott, the surviving trustee of £69 4s 7d.
