- Production dateFrom: 1884 To: 1884
- Scope and ContentBirthday wishes. It is 3 weeks till Gertrude comes into the world as G.L-H. [i.e. until Gertrude's marriage]. Ought to be at Antwerp by this time, not having breakfast at the Great Eastern Hotel. Describes train being overcrowded and the steamer likewise, with no berth, which the writer thought had been booked. Therefore decided to disembark the steamer and travel a day later. This will delay itinerary by 12 hours. Luggage remained on the steamer, so hope to be reunited with it in Antwerp.
