- Scope and ContentYesterday went to Worksop and shopped for stationery and newspapers; describes visits for the remainder of the day - went to Bawtry and had tea with the brigade headquarters. Brigadier Steele had wanted to see the writer but was out. Was able to say goodbye to Howlett, the bridage major, who is leaving. Staff captain lent the writer a car to visit the 4th R.W.K [Royal West Kent Regiment]. Like the brigade headquarters, they are beatifully accommodated in a large country mansion. Mention of Finch, who has been placed in command of his own battalion. Waiting for new uniform to turn up from Oxford.
