Has answered Sydney's [Sydney Watson] letter stating that the writer's ipression was that the organ scholar was selected and appointed, perhaps not be examination and certainly not at the same time as the open scholarships are competeed for. Reference to son Christopher's recent and marked progress in music. Was in the office most of yeaterday, and much the same today. Lunched in the cricket pavilion in the park which is the mess. Had tea and dined in the general's mess. General arrived today - hope to meet him soon.
