Scope and Content
Concerned for the health of his brother 'still subject to those fainting fits' and requests he should get better advice 'than can be expected from a country apothecary'; he is very willing to bear the expense of better advise. Glad to heat that Mary's health is restored (his niece aged 10) and offers to defray charge of a proper school for her and for 'my other dear little girl at the same time unless they think her too young at present (Leah Ann, aged 7). 'We do not know how we can do them good more effectually than by contributing to give them such an education as is suitable to their stationand such as may enable them to make their way in the world and support themselves with credit....attaining truly useful and valuable accomplishments'. Greetings to family and 'nephews and nieces both at Sharnbrook and Odell'
