    From: 1921 To: 1921
  • Scope and Content
Thanks for birthday wishes and book. Hugh's mother is struggling to enable them to live at Vine Cottage without a servant and so avoid being driven to live in hotels and spend capital; it makes the writer sick to think what she has to do. Have had a delightful visit to John; hope by this time John's wife is safely back at home. Went to the memorial service for Uncle Herbert's wife. Describes the event. Enjoyed stay at Lenham. The faculty for Kenneth's memorial tablet has arrived. Went yesterday to supervise the tablet being put up on the left hand side of the vestry door. Is accepting Guy Beech's offer to dedicate it on 11 November. Comments about sermon on All Saints Day. There was a jumble sale yesterday.
