Cara was still in bed, but was to get up in the afternoon, and hopes quite soon to get away to Littlehampton for a holiday. Reference to visit to Rhodes family at Guildford (sister Bertha, nee Johnson) and visit of Nancy Rhodes, daughter of Bertha. Missed Hugh and Cecil at tennis party on Thursday. Rumour that Vickers has bought Allens works in Bedford. Hear that Edith and perhaps Mrs Bazeley are coming to stay at Wootton on 3 or 4 September.
