Kathleen was disappointed, but was with Aunt Edith [Wiglesworth]. Sends a cheque - the money to go into the grandchildren's savings accounts. Hopes to go to Hollydale to stay with John and family on 31 December. Maude has been helping Mrs Beech with her children as the nurse is still away having been ill. She is looking forward to the dance at the Abbey on January 8th. Uncle Herbert [Johnson] is due to start today on his tour round the world. New Zealand is the farthest point.
