Maude has arranged to stay with the Ridlington's for December, January and February in Manderlay and wants parents views on a possible longer stay. Father wonders of Chinese disturbances will make it desireable for her to return. Comments on the political situation in China. Aunt Edith Wigglesworth was staying recently. Comments about Kathleen's health. Would like he to come home for a while. 'I realise it will be months before she is well, but I do not despair of her ultimate recovery.' Comments about roof repairs and other maintenance. Mention of Hugh and Cecil visiting John at Hollydale. Comments about father's health. Christmas preparations. Consecration of additional churchyard at Hugh's church.
