Mention of Dr Williamson who has moved to Portsmouth where he has got a job as assistant medical officer a post worth £600. He may be in the running for a job in the Ministry of Health, which would carry a pension and a salary of £1,200. Went to Hampstead and lunched with Aunt Mary and Angela. Col. Crisp-Clarke enquired about the tenancy of the [Turvey] Abbey; Mr Finch wishes to leave though his tenancy has over 2 years to run. Anxiously awaiting the result of the adjourned case at Brighton County Court. 'Poor Daddy is rather disturbed about it.' Comments about Maude's throat and getting the doctor to see it. 'Daddy has taken the almshouse service this afternnon and much appreciated Beech asking him.'
