- Scope and ContentWar news is good; hope it continues. Went to tea with John and Cara to celebrate the writer's wedding anniversary. John was 10 days in bed with 'flu and has been a while regaining his strength, though is now much better. Will be lovely having Hugh home on leave - hopes he has a t least a fortnight. Comments about whether Hugh should visit sister Kathleen while on leave -'she seems rather a long way from me in more ways that one and I much regret it.' Other suggestions for Hugh's leave, including a possible visit to Vine Cottage. Hopes new domestic arrangements will be successful. Mrs Hilton is a fair cook. Maude is away till the end of the month. Enjoyed stay with Aunt Florrie; feels much more on touch with the Rhodes family again. Gives news of the family members. Captain Maurice Bomford is getting better but not yet returned to work.
