Writer is staying with Aunt Florrie, Hugh's father is at Wimbledon with John and Cara. Is spending time at 75 [Gunterstone Road] getting new helpers settled in; hopes to have achieved this by Wednesday. Maude is having a 'scrumptions' holday; she is now at Church Stretton with Miss Wynn Edwards and her sister. The Hammersmith bus women have gone on strike so there are no buses today - hopes they and their employers will soon arrange their dispute and not inconvenience the public. War news continues to be encouraging.
