    Have now returned to the metropolis after the holiday. Much enjoyed Lynton and made some new acquiantances who the writer hopes will become friends. Writer is staying with Aunt Florrie, Hugh's father is at Wimbledon with John and Cara. Is spending time at 75 [Gunterstone Road] getting new helpers settled in; hopes to have achieved this by Wednesday. Maude is having a 'scrumptions' holday; she is now at Church Stretton with Miss Wynn Edwards and her sister. The Hammersmith bus women have gone on strike so there are no buses today - hopes they and their employers will soon arrange their dispute and not inconvenience the public. War news continues to be encouraging.
