Scope and Content
Sir, I hope to apply for Legal Aid at my forthcoming trial to be held at Bedford on 8th April next, being entirely without means to provide same.
My defence is that I am absolutely innocient of stealing the articles as charged, but admit dealing with them for another person to whom I honestly believed them to belong & that they were her own property. It was impossible for me to have known or be able to get at them. I can account ofr every hour of the day thro witnesses I intend to call, never being out of call & scarely out of sightof my patient day or night except when out for my daily walk, & was never alone in the house the whole time I was at " The Hoo"
I remain Sir, your Obedient Servant, Marion Digby Lyon
