- Scope and ContentThanks for congratulations on writer being awarded the Military Cross. On an up to date army list, the writer also has a mark nidicating he also got a 'mention'. Was demobilised 3 days ago. Has been sleeping in the garden due to the hot weather. In early September will be off to new job in Bristol. Is trying to elude the tailor until stuff comes home from South Africa. 'Sharing in the joys of moving a big London houseful of stuff where a grown up family of 5 has had their GHQ for 14 years into a small and already furnished cottage in the country - without the help of servants.' During last month at Harfleur was at 40th Stationary Hospital, and the nurses had dancing permission for a month in celebration of peace. Writer went to 2 dances which he enjoyed.
