Comments about the German substitute for Eau de Cologne, known locally as Koln Wasser. Envies Cecil going to Oxford for Eights Week. Was sorry to say good bye to Nelson [horse]. Can generally get a decent mount from the General Base Depot. Is home on leave at last; dashing round the country, mainly in connection with a probable job at Bristol. Saw Edith [Bazeley, sister of addressee] who seemed pretty well. Has been anxious about father who is alarmingly frail.
