  • Scope and Content
Has been informed that chaplains who have not signed on till 1 February or longer with the Army of Occupation must expect to be removed any day at shortest notice to jobs in France to make way for the longer service men coming up to the jobs in Germany. Hears that there are arrangements to have more YMCA lady workers in Germany; wonders if Edith is attacted to the idea. Writer doubts he will get any home leave before being demobilised; had put in got leave when contrat expires on 4 June. Will probably take the CEMS [Church of England Men's Society] job in the north under Longden, who is to be chief organising secretary of CEMS for the northern province. Gives details of the job. 'I feel used up in body and soul.'
