- Scope and ContentHas little time to write letters. Reference to Aunt Edith [Wiglesworth, nee Longuet Higgins] and 'Uncle Jack's accident.' Writer and Blundell got very wet last Sunday on the way to church; intends to get a mackintosh cape and a pair of over trousers before the winter. On Saturday was the annual outing which was less terrible than the writer feared. Went to Glastonbury. What is left of the abbey is wonderful, but the writer is furious at the destruction of the original. Describes the outing. Mention of John going to Scotland. David Dows will probably be spending the night of 16 September in London as he sails from Liverpool of the 17th. 'Congratulations to Maude [sister] on the beginnings of her enterprise.' Mention of a visit form mother and finding rooms for her to stay.
