Our young Russian friend took the 1st lansdcape prize and 2nd portrait prize. Mention of various friends/guests, including James Cavendish Bentinck; he and his wife, 3 children and dog all share a room that the landord gave up for them. Improvised 'dumb waiter' created between the balconies of the writer's room and that of their friends two floors above. Writer entered a bobsleigh race and won a little silver cup.
