- Scope and ContentThanks for valentine letter. Sorry to hear of the illness at Turvey. Beginning to think that the Bedford hockey match will not come off; if it does, hopes Kathleen will write and tell the writer about it. Bicycling was very hard work; very slippery but no serious falls. On the occasion of the long journey last term Wilson went into the river, bicycle and all, and lost his stopwatch. Reference to proposed visit of Uncle Harry and Millicent. Debating society discussed the defeat of the German socialists, a question that the Union debated last Thursday. Writer was the opposer and maintained that it was not a thing to be deplored. On Wednesday writer went as Wright's guest to hear Dr [Herbert Hall] Turner, the astronomical professor to the Universtiy, give a paper on the sun to the juior scientific club. It was very interesting. Balliol [college] concert last Sunday. Details social life and who he has invited for tea.
