- Scope and ContentVery sorry to hear of Horace's accident. Arrived at Lustleigh last night, after 'one of the most pleasant weeks I can remember.' Last Tuesday morning went to the meet of the Tetcott Otter Hounds at Boyton Bridge - describes the event. Later that day went with Mrs Russell to Lew Trenchard; there were tables laid all along the drive to Lew House and the Baring Gould family ready to recieve the village for tea. Describes the event and comments on the family members. The tea was followed by cricket for the boys and another game for the girls, and then the church service. On Wednesday worked most of the day with badminton for exercise in the afternoon. On Tursday Claude Russell and the writer again went the Tetcott Otter Hounds at Boyton Bridge. Names several people there. Describes the clothing of the hunt members. Long description of the hunt itself; no otters were caught. Left by the 1.30 train on Friday; the train was delayed by people attending Tavistock market, so the wait at Plymouth was reduced to 35 minutes. Arrived at Lustleigh at 6.15. Another guest who was on the train is Sam Humphrey, who is going up to Kings, Cambridge next term. Expects to be home on friday as hosts wish him to stay for Harvest Festival, which is on Thursday [Is staying with Reverend William Gordon Baillie and family]. Hopes Horace will get safely to school without Mother having to take him to Clifton.
